High Altitudes
The alaichi crop grows best at altitudes within 700 to 2000 m above sea level
Cool and Humid
For proper and healthy growth of the crops, the soil conditions must be cool, humid and swampy; shaded by nitrogenous trees; along with a slopy terrain

Crop capsules are dried to reduce the moisture content to 10% and prevent loss of flavor. Technologies like local Bhatti, improved dryers, solar dryers, etc.
